In case you haven’t heard, the Gecko Room has an indoor sandbox. Owen and his friend sure had fun pouring, sifting, and measuring sand this week. Sand is an awesome exploration tool because it stretches the imagination, requires kids to participate and helps them develop their super important physical, social, and cognitive learning skills. These boys did a lot of test and try hypotheses. How much sand can we put in there? How fast will it go through the funnels? How heavy will it be? It’s no wonder sandboxes have been a staple in kid-play for so long!
