There are many ways to be active within the EC3 community. Since we’re a family cooperative organization, we rely on our families to support us in more ways than just paying tuition. We need help with things around the building and grounds so we don’t have to pay an outsider to do them. Many of the activities don’t even require an organized event–here are a number of yard work projects that you can tackle anytime. (You’ll need to bring your own tools, but if you come on a scheduled work day we’ll have coffee and treats to thank you with!)
Shrubs on West Street (near the parking lot entrance) need serious trimming.
Shrubs on the east side of the building, by the Gecko room windows, need trimming to the bottom of window height so children can see outside.
Plant some bulbs and tidy up the edging of this area.
This strip of garden between the Toddlerland playground and the parking lot is prime bulb area!
The infant playground on the front of the building could use some bulbs too.
The area near the entrance needs to be weeded, and bulbs are welcome here too.
We’re working on edging the track around the sand-pit, but it’s a big job–can you help?
Pushing sand from the track back into the sand pit is an ongoing task. Can you help?
The garden boxes have gone wild again!
The Toddlerland track needs to be edged and weeded–and so does the sand!
How about giving the buggies a good hosing down?
Whatever your skill set, we’re glad for your help! If you have other ideas for how to get all this work done, please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Hope to see you at EC3 soon!
